NYC COUPLE BUSTED WITH CACHE OF WEAPONS AND BOMBMAKING EXPLOSIVES

Morgan GliedmanSusyn Schops Gliedman Paul Gliedman
The privileged daughter of a prominent city doctor, and her boyfriend — a Harvard grad and Occupy Wall Street activist — have been busted for allegedly having a cache of weapons and a bombmaking explosive in their Greenwich Village apartment.
Morgan Gliedman — who is nine-months pregnant — and her baby daddy, Aaron Greene, 31, also had instructions on making bombs, including a stack of papers with a cover sheet titled, “The Terrorist Encyclopedia,’’ sources told The Post yesterday.
People who know Greene say his political views are “extreme,” the sources said.
Morgan Gliedman, daughter of Realtor Susyn Schops Gliedman and prominent doctor Paul Gliedman, was busted at this building with her OWS boyfriend.
Morgan Gliedman, daughter of Realtor Susyn Schops Gliedman and prominent doctor Paul Gliedman, was busted at this building with her OWS boyfriend.
Cops found the stash in the couple’s West Ninth Street home Saturday when they went there to look for Gliedman, 27, who was wanted for alleged credit-card theft.
A detective discovered a plastic container with seven grams of a white chemical powder called HMTD, which is so powerful, cops evacuated several nearby buildings.
Police also found a flare launcher, which is a commercial replica of a grenade launcher; a modified 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun; ammo; and nine high-capacity rifle magazines, the sources said.
Cops also allegedly uncovered papers about creating homemade booby traps, improvised submachine guns, and various handwritten notebooks containing chemical formulas.
The couple’s arrest Saturday was a sharp turn from their privileged backgrounds.
Gliedman, who grew up on Park Avenue, graduated from Dalton in 2002. Her dad, Dr. Paul Gliedman, is director of radiation oncology at Beth Israel Hospital, Brooklyn Division.
Paul Gliedman — who was included in New York magazine’s list of top doctors in 2011 — received his medical degree from Columbia University.
Morgan’s mother, Susyn Schops Gliedman, is a realtor with Prudential Douglas Elliman.
Greene attended Harvard as an undergraduate and did his graduate work at the university’s Kennedy School of Government.
He has five prior run-ins with the police, with the charges including, assault, and weapons possession, sources said.

GREG JENNINGS' SISTER TRASHES AARON RODGERS ON TWITTER ABOUT HIS PLAY IN SEASON FINALE

Despite the fact that Aaron Rodgers connected with her brother for 120 yards and two touchdowns in the Packers' 37-34 loss to Minnesota, Greg Jennings' sister Valyncia was not very complimentary of the reigning NFL MVP's effort earlier in the game.
If Rodgers is sensitive about things like his height, he's definitely going to be a little thin-skinned about what his former top target's sister had to say about his play while live-tweeting during the game.
While Valyncia Jennings' Twitter account isn't verified, it is clearly her, as she is one of the 137 people Greg Jennings follows and has tweeted photos of his Super Bowl ring previously.
Via @VLacri:
"Aaron Rodgers come on u had GJ for the TD twice. Get him the🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈geez!!!!!"
"Why was that ball under thrown like that, he was wide open make the throw for the receiver!!! Geeez!!"
"My God Aaron Rodgers holds the ball forever! GJ was wide open 5x for that touchdown! Goodness he acts like he doesn't want to throw to him😑"
"GJ is the only receiver that has to jump in the air with both hands up to get the 🏈!!! It's ridiculous I pray he departs GB ASAP!"
"Aaron Rodgers smh! Had him in the slot wide open no one even covered him! Where is Peyton Manning when u need him! This is utterly pathetic"
Then she started tweeting at Jennings' wife Nicole.
"@Da_mrs_85 Eb, Cortney, and Jahlin. We are hot Mad! I've never seen a star receiver ever go through this smh! @GregJennings needs to bounce😑"
"It is so obvious that @GregJennings is being blatantly ignored by ARod. Maybe @ halftime GJ should put on #18 then ARod will force 🏈 to him!"
"Who can make a play @GregJennings can! He's the best freakin receiver these clowns got! Now take your talents to south beach & get paid!πŸ’°πŸ’΅"
"@GregJennings ball out so you can leave this team! They will miss u when your gone! It's all good bye packers! Cheap team, can't afford him"
"@Da_mrs_85 I don't freakin care he should have more catches, if this idiot could see the coverage!!😑 Then he holds on to the ball & fumbles!"
"ARod is the most overrated QB in the league! He is no where near Peyton or Brady! It sickens me, Peyton would avg. 5 TD with this squad!!!"
Jennings, who is a free agent this offseason, missed a significant amount of the season due to a groin injury and found his role diminished when he returned due to the emergence of Randall Cobb, the "#18" she references above. Valyncia continued to defend her opinion to angry Packers fans, who continued to point out that Greg Jennings had been targeted 12 times heading into the final minute of regulation.

JANET JACKSON WILL NOT BE CHARGED WITH A CRIME FOR SMACKING HER NIECE PARIS

None of the Jackson family members will be prosecuted over their violent scuffle in July outside the home of family matriarch Katherine Jackson, according to an online report.

The case is now closed because no one from the Jackson family would speak to cops, according to TMZ.

Singer Janet Jackson allegedly slapped her teenage niece Paris and called her a “spoiled bitch” after she tweeted about her missing guardian and grandmother, Katherine.

Security footage shows Janet and her brother Randy approaching the 14-year-old girl and trying to snatch her cell phone away.

Paris had been on Twitter for days, demanding the whereabouts of her grandmother.
“9 days and counting . . . so help me god i will make whoever did this pay,” tweeted Paris.

Janet, Randy and Jermaine confronted Paris and her brother Prince, and tried to take away their cell phones.
“This is our house. Not the Jackson family house. Get the f--k out!” Paris allegedly told her aunt and uncles, TMZ reported.

There was subsequently a physical confrontation between Randy and Jermaine on one side, and Trent on the other. Cops rushed to the scene.

NORTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR PARDONS WILMINGTON 10 IN WRONGFUL CONVICTION OF FIRE BOMBING

Outgoing North Carolina Gov. Beverly Perdue issued pardons Monday to the Wilmington 10, a group wrongly convicted 40 years ago in a notorious Civil Rights-era prosecution that led to accusations that the state was holding political prisoners.
Perdue issued pardons of innocence Monday for the nine black men and one white woman who were given prison sentences totaling nearly 300 years for the 1971 firebombing of a Wilmington grocery store after police shot a black teenager.
The pardon means the state no longer thinks the 10 — four of whom have since died — committed a crime.
"I have decided to grant these pardons because the more facts I have learned about the Wilmington Ten, the more appalled I have become about the manner in which their convictions were obtained," Perdue said in a news release Monday.
The three key witnesses in the case later recanted their testimony. Amnesty International and other groups took up the issue, portraying the Wilmington 10 as political prisoners.
In 1978, then-Gov. Jim Hunt commuted their sentences but withheld a pardon. Two years later, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Va., threw out the convictions, saying perjury and prosecutorial misconduct were factors in the verdicts.
"We are tremendously grateful to Gov. Perdue for her courage," said Benjamin Chavis, the former national NAACP executive director who was in jail and prison for about five years before his release. "This is a historic day for North Carolina and the United States. People should be innocent until proven guilty, not persecuted for standing up for equal rights and justice."
In addition to Chavis, the surviving members of the Wilmington 10 are Reginald Epps, James McKoy, Wayne Moor, Marvin Patrick and Willie Earl Vereen. Those who have died are Jerry Jacobs, Ann Shepard, Connie Tindall and Joe Wright. Wright was the youngest, arrested when he was 16 years old.
The Wilmington 10 were convicted in October 1972 on charges of conspiracy to firebomb Mike's Grocery and conspiracy to assault emergency personnel who responded to the fire in February 1971.
The trial was held in Burgaw in Pender County after a judge declared a mistrial the first time. A jury of 10 blacks and two whites had been seated in the first trial when prosecutor Jay Stroud said he was sick, and the judge declared the mistrial. At the second trial, a jury of 10 whites and two blacks was seated.
The three key witnesses who took the stand for the prosecution recanted their testimony in 1976. And the prosecutor, Stroud, became a flashpoint for the Wilmington 10 supporters.
In November, NAACP state leaders said they believe newly uncovered notes show Stroud tried to keep blacks off the first jury and seat whites he thought were sympathetic to the Ku Klux Klan.
They showed the notes on a poster board, saying the handwriting on the legal paper appeared to match notes from other prosecution records in the case.
At the top of the list of 100 jurors, the notes said, "stay away from black men." A capital "B'' was beside the names of black jurors. The notes identify one potential black juror as an "Uncle Tom type," and beside the names of several white people, notations include "KKK?" and "good!!"
Stroud told the StarNews of Wilmington that he wrote the notes but declined to confirm that to the AP.
"This conduct is disgraceful," Perdue said of the notes. "It is utterly incompatible with basic notions of fairness and with every ideal that North Carolina holds dear. The legitimacy of our criminal justice system hinges on it operating in a fair and equitable manner with justice being dispensed based on innocence or guilt — not based on race or other forms of prejudice."

BLACK MONDAY IN THE NFL: FOLLOW WHO STAYS AND WHO GOES FOR 2013 SO FAR....

In addition to Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid, whose 14-year tenure with the team officially ended Monday morning, a number of NFL coaches and general managers will be starting the New Year looking for employment after failing to meet ownership's standards this season.
We'll be keeping track of all of this busy Monday's announcements here.

Kansas City Chiefs fire head coach Romeo Crennel, remain undetermined on GM Pioli
After a league-worst 2-14 record, the Chiefs have fired Romeo Crennel after one full year on the job.
"I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for Romeo, both personally and professionally," Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt said in a statement. "He is an accomplished coach, a man of great character and he helped guide our football team through some extremely challenging circumstances this season. However, I am embarrassed by the poor product we gave our fans this season, and I believe we have no choice but to move the franchise in a different direction. I will immediately begin the search for the next head coach of the Chiefs." Hunt also said that no final determination has been made on the status of general manager Scott Pioli.

Philadelphia Eagles make it official, end Andy Reid's 14-year tenure with team
As reported Sunday, the Eagles formally fired Andy Reid Monday morning.
"Andy Reid won the most games of any head coach in Eagles history and he is someone I respect greatly and will remain friends with for many years to come," owner Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement on the team's website. "But, it is time for the Eagles to move in a new direction. Coach Reid leaves us with a winning tradition that we can build upon. And we are very excited about the future."

New York Jets fire general manager Mike Tannenbaum
Owner Woody Johnson didn't waste any time finding a fall guy for the team's disappointing 6-10 season. In a statement, Johnson said, "This morning, I informed Mike Tannenbaum that he will not return for the 2013 season. Mike devoted 15 years of service to the Jets, and I want to thank him for his hard work and dedication. Although he helped guide us to two consecutive AFC Championship games, we are not where we want to be, and a new General Manager will be critical to getting this team back on the right track." Johnson also said that Rex Ryan "will remain the head coach of our football team."

Cleveland Browns fire head coach Pat Shurmur and general manager Tom Heckert
The Browns have fired the coach after two seasons on the job, in which he posted a 9-23 record. The move was expected after the team changed ownership this season. Shurmur told the Cleveland Plain-Dealer Sunday that he hadn't spoken to new owner Jimmy Haslam in "quite some time." Despite drafting a solid young nucleus that includes running back Trent Richardson and defensive tackle Jabaal Sheard, general manager Tom Heckert is also out.
Gene Smith out as Jacksonville Jaguars general manager
The Jaguars have removed Smith after a franchise worst 2-14 record, according to a team statement. Smith, 48, held the position since 2009. His replacement will be responsible for choosing the second overall pick in the 2013 and also will likely be tasked with the unenviable decision of whether to bring Tim Tebow back to his hometown. Coach Mike Mularkey's job appears safe for now.

KATT WILLIAMS BACK IN JAIL…THIS TIME FOR CHILD ENDANGERMENT

Katt Williams was arrested once again on Friday for allegedly endangering his 4 children … according to TMZ .
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … LAPD cops picked Katt up at his Woodland Hills home this morning, after an investigation from the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services concluded there were numerous guns and illegal drugs in the house that created a safety hazard for the kids.
Since his arrest Katt has been released on a $100,000 bond.  As for the kids … authorities have placed them in protective custody for now.
According to sources, Katt Williams stated the guns were secured in a locked box, adding, “If the police come in and raid my place and break into my gun boxes, you’re gonna find guns! I’m not in a gang, what difference does it make?” ”How do you keep kids safe without guns?” Katt also told TMZ photographers that there were no drugs at his house — well … he admits there was weed, but says, “Weed is not a drug.”
We’re told the case will go to the D.A. next week for possible felony child endangerment charges.

FATHER OF 13YR OLD GIRL KILLED ON SCHOOL BUS BY ANOTHER STUDENTS COMMINT SUICIDE

Father of 13 year-old, Lourdes ‘Jina’ Guzman-DeJesus has committed suicide after grieving over daughter the past five weeks.
Lourdes Guzman (13) was shot dead November 20th in Miami, Florida on her school bus –right in front of her 7 year-old sister and seven other children that occupied the bus, after another student pulled a hand gun out of his backpack to show off to another student. The gun accidentally went off, hitting Lourdes in the neck.

She was then transported by helicopter to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Since her death, her father-Armando ‘Alex’ Guzman, 34, (pictured above) have been overcome with grief and guilt of the tragedy—so much that he took his own life this past Thursday. Armando was found dead in a vehicle in Broward County of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The student who shot his daughter, is 15-year-old Jordyn Howe, whom police took into custody immediately following the incident. Police believe that the gun went off accidentally while Howe was showing the gun to other students on the bus.

YOUNG MAN POSTS SUICIDE NOTE ON FACEBOOK BEFORE PARKING HIS CAR ON RAILROAD CROSSING AND GETTING HIT BY TRAIN

 Antjuan Colvin Facebook profile photo.
A California man parked his car on an Amtrak railroad crossing before a northbound train struck him at 75 mph at 9:48 Christmas night. He was declared dead at the scene.

About 45 minutes earlier, Antjuan Miguel Colvin, 21, of Waterford was typing the final letters of a suicide note he posted on Facebook:

"To all my friends and family on Facebook. Thank you all you have all made an impact on my life some of you good some of you not but you all are loved I hope you all have wonderful lives. I know its not my time to go but I cannot take living any longer. So as of tonight I will end my life. Again thank you for being apart of my life. Merry Christmas.......Goodbye."

The post alarmed family and friends, who inundated his cell phone with calls. Then they started calling each other to see if anyone knew of his whereabouts or if the post was a tasteless joke, reported California newspaper The Modesto Bee.

Antjuan Colvin wrote on Facebook: "To all my friends and family on Facebook. Thank you all you have all made an impact on my life some of you good some of you not but you all are loved I hope you all have wonderful lives."

"I didn't know what to think when I saw it," said Colvin’s childhood friend Olivia Johnson, 22.

"I called his phone like 100 times,” she continued. “I called his sister, messaged his girlfriend, called them to (find out) if they knew what was going on. I don't understand why he would do this."

When news of the crash broke, it confirmed that the post was sincere. The conductor was the only witness.

"It's horrible for the conductor and horrible for the family, who will always have to remember Christmas Day as a day they lost a family member," Bejaran said. "I can't imagine that,” said Sgt. Anthony Bejaran of the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department.

SANDY HOOK FUNERAL FRAUD BUSTED AS WOMAN CHARGED AND POSSIBLY HURRICANE SANDY SCAM AS WELL

Nouel Alba, 37, of the Bronx
The innocent blood spilled on the floors of a Connecticut elementary school was still warm when a Bronx woman hatched a sick scam to profit off the tragedy.
Nouel Alba, 37, was busted after allegedly posing as an aunt of 6-year-old Noah Pozner — one of 20 children massacred inside Sandy Hook Elementary School — to collect money for the child’s “funeral fund,” authorities said.
Alba was charged Wednesday with lying to the feds after they caught wind of the vile scam, which included using her Facebook account to solicit donations and spinning a tale about meeting with President Obama, court papers show.
“I’m disgusted by it,” the child’s uncle, Alexis Haller, told NBC. “I think it’s disgusting behavior.”
Alba, of Soundview, began posting on her profile — which was under the user name Victorian Glam Fairys — just hours after a gunman went on a gory rampage in the Newtown, Conn., school on Dec. 14, the papers show.
“All this killing and shooting this entire week is just crazy,” she posted at 1:14 p.m., according to the FBI. “Praying for those families and all the kids who are effected (sic) by this today. My heart goes out to those little innocent kids.”
Just 15 minutes later, she wrote that her nephew was one of the tiny victims and claimed to have provided law enforcement officers with pictures to help identify him. The next day, Alba, a mother, continued the twisted scheme by asking heartbroken people for cash.
“We’ve set up a funeral fund for my brother and families,” she posted on her profile before including PayPal and bank information to accept donations.
“We like to thank everyone for your prayers,” she wrote. “We ask that you continue to not just pray for us, but for the families who have lost their kid.”
Some distressed readers reached out to Alba by phone to set up donations. Alba told one donor that she had to go to the elementary school to help identify little Noah’s body — and even mentioned meeting the President before his speech, according to the court documents.
The donor texted Alba, asking if she was watching Obama speak at Newtown High School.
“No I’m sitting in my car,” Alba responded, according to the criminal compliant. “Emotionally I can’t deal with right now . . . tomorrow I’ll see (Noah) in a casket and that will be hard enough to handle.”
But she said she was sure Obama would make poignant remarks.
“I'm sure he’ll give a good speech,” Alba allegedly texted. “He met with us hugged us even cryd with us. He’s really down to earth.”

VEGAS WOMEN SUSPECTED OF KILLING 10-YEAR-OLD GIRL BUT ARRESTED FOR SLASHING CO-WORKER'S FACE WITH RAZOR BLADES

brenda stokes wilson

Police suspect that a casino worker killed a 10-year-girl before going to a Las Vegas resort and allegedly slashing the face of a co-worker with razor blades.
The search for Jade Morris ended Friday afternoon when officials confirmed that it was her body that was found a day earlier in an undeveloped housing tract.
The Clark County coroner's office said she died of multiple stab wounds.
Jade was last seen Dec. 21 with family friend Brenda Stokes Wilson, who picked her up to go Christmas shopping.
Wilson, 50, returned the car she had borrowed for the outing to a friend two hours later. Jade never came back. Investigators later found blood on the driver's door and steering wheel of the 2007 Saab sedan.
Later that night, Wilson was wrestled to the ground with razors in each hand after allegedly slashing the face of a female co-worker at the Bellagio casino.
A judge raised her bail to $60,000 from $600,000 Friday morning after she was identified as the prime suspect in the child's killing.
"It's no secret the defendant is the suspect in the murder of 10-year-old Jade Morris," prosecutor Robert Daskas told Senior Clark County District Court Judge Joseph Bonaventure at the hearing.
Later Friday, Las Vegas police homicide Capt. Chris Jones said investigators were still moving forward.
"As soon as we get all the evidence in that we need, we'll book her on the murder charges," he said.
Wilson has been jailed since the 21st on felony battery with a weapon, burglary and mayhem charges that could get her decades in prison.
Police said she offered no help in the search for the missing girl. Murder and kidnapping charges could get her life in prison without parole or the death penalty.
On Thursday, Las Vegas police responding to a 911 call found a girl's body in unkempt brush near palm trees in a small traffic circle about 10 miles from the downtown Las Vegas outlet mall where Stokes was to have taken the girl shopping.
On Friday evening, Jones called the slaying "unfathomable."
"Even having our jobs, we still can't wrap our heads around this," he said. "A lot of people think that just because of our positions we can understand it, but we can't."
In court Friday morning, Wilson stood flanked by eight police officers as her lawyer, Tony Liker, clutching a Bible and a copy of the charging documents, asked the judge to postpone arraignment until Wednesday to give him time to meet with Wilson.
Wilson, who had been identified by police and prosecutors as Brenda Stokes, told the judge Friday that her full name was Brenda Stokes Wilson.
Jade's father, Philip Morris, was removed from court Wednesday by armed court officers after shouting questions about his daughter's whereabouts to Wilson. He did not attend Friday's hearing.
The two dated for several years, and Jade had a long and trusting relationship with Wilson, according to the girl's grandfather, Philip Tucker.
Tucker said Philip Morris lived in Billings, Mont., and worked at a Flying J truck stop for more than a year. He would stay with Wilson when he visited Las Vegas, Tucker said.
Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the slaying. But Tucker said Wilson appeared to believe that the face-slashing victim had become romantically involved with Philip Morris.
Wilson picked up Jade for their shopping expedition around 5 p.m. Later, she got a ride with a friend to the Bellagio. She allegedly attacked her co-worker, Joyce Rhone, at around 9:30 p.m.
Rhone, 44, was hospitalized with deep cuts on her face, including one from her ear to the edge of her mouth.
Wilson told investigators that she visited her doctor last week, seeking to be admitted to a hospital "due to feeling like she wanted to hurt someone."

FOUR DEAD WHEN RUSSIAN AIRLINER CAREENED OFF THE RUNWAY DURING LANDING

Russia airplane
A passenger airliner careened off the runway at Russia's third-busiest airport while landing on Saturday, broke into pieces and caught fire, killing at least four people.
Officials said there were eight people aboard the Tu-204 belonging to Russian airline Red Wings that was flying back from the Czech Republic without passengers to its home at Vnukovo Airport.
Emergency officials said in a televised news conference that four people were killed and another four severely injured when the plane rolled off the runway into a snowy field and disintegrated.
Russia's state television showed photos of the plane's wreckage, with the cockpit sheared off from the fuselage and a large chunk gashed out near the tail.
The crash occurred amid light snow, but other details were not immediately known.
Vnukovo airport spokeswoman Yelena Krylova said it had enough personnel and equipment to keep the runway fully functional. The airport resumed receiving planes after a break of several hours.
Prior to Saturday's crash, there had been no fatal accidents reported for Tu-204s, which entered commercial service in 1995. The plane is a twin-engine midrange jet with a capacity of about 210 passengers.
Vnukovo, on the southern outskirts of Moscow, is one of the Russian capital's three international airports.
