5 PEOPLE SLASHED AFTER WOMAN GOES ON A RAMPAGE AT JAMAICA AVE SUBWAY STATION

A crazed woman went on a slashing rampage this morning, injuring five at a Jamaica subway station, authorities said.

The knife-wielding woman attacked riders at the Sutphin Boulevard/Archer Avenue Station at 8:45 a.m., an MTA spokeswoman said.

MTA cops subdued the woman and recovered the knife before placing her under arrest, officials said. All five victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital where they’re in stable condition, according to FDNY officials.

E, J and Z trains are bypassing that station this morning, officials said.
MTA cleaning man Jose Fernandez said he’s been told the station will be closed until noon.

“There’s a lot of blood on the platform,” said Fernandez, a 20-year MTA vet. “They said they won’t open up the station until 12 o’clock for me to clean up. I’m not looking forward to it. This is terrible.”
A cab driver outside the station said he was waiting for fares when people poured from the station screaming:

“ `There’s a mad woman down there stabbing people!’ “
“Then a couple of people came up the stairs with blood on their arms and hands,” the cab driver added. “It may have been five people, men and women. They went straight to the police and some went into the ambulance.”
