N.Y. DRUG RAID NETS 640 MARIJUANA LOLLIPOPS AND 5 LBS. OF REGULAR MARIJUANA

Students at the University of Buffalo will be having a lot less fun at their Halloween parties after police confiscated a huge haul of candy containing marijuana.

Buffalo News reports that narcotics detectives discovered chocolate-flavored marijuana, hard candy containing marijuana, 640 “Jolly Lolly” marijuana lollipops and 5 pounds of regular marijuana at a Buffalo apartment.

Alexander J. Zito, 26, was arrested on felony drug charges after police raided a party he was having at his home for several university students, reports say.

Narcotics Detective Sgt. Timothy Mulhern described the students as extremely high when the raid occurred.

“One of the students was so high we thought he was going to pass out,” Mulhern said.

Zito allegedly had the candies shipped across the country to Buffalo. Buffalo News reports that business cards found at Zito's home listed him as the proprietor of a medical marijuana shop in San Diego, California.

"Jolly Lollies" are described online as "medicated sweet hard candies on a stick that come in a variety of flavors."

Medical marijuana is not legal in the state of New York.
