AMERICA'S 50 WORST CITIES FOR BLACK, MALE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES


The Schott Foundation on Black Males & Education recently conducted a study that shows 50 cities in the United States that are not succeeding in graduating black men from high school. The Schott Foundation on Black Males & Education acts as a gatekeeper for malfunction in the school systems.
According to a recent study released by the Schott Foundation black men are not meeting the expectation of receiving a proper education. Out of all 50 cities that were listed, the highest graduating rate for black males from high school is only 48%. These cities were chosen because all of these cities have graduation rates below the national average. The national average graduation rate is 75.5%.
The percentage represents the number of black males graduating. The list of cities is as follows.
1) Pinellas County (FL) - 21%
2) Palm Beach County (FL) - 22%
3) Duval County (Fl) - 23%
4) Charleston County (SC) - 24%
5) Buffalo, (NY) - 25%
6) Cleveland( OH) - 27%
7) Dade County (FL) - 27%
8) Detroit (MI) - 27%
9) Jefferson Parish (LA) - 28%
10) Philadelphia (PA) - 28%
11) New York City (NY) - 28%
12) Polk County (FL) - 29%
13) Chatham County (GA) - 29%
14) Norfolk (VA) - 31%
15) Richmond County (GA) - 31%
16) Clark County (NV) - 32%
17) Rochester (NY) - 33%
18) Cincinnati (OH) - 33%
19) Orange County (CA) - 33%
20) Atlanta (GA) - 34%
