Drug kingpin Frank Lucas, who was portrayed by Denzel Washington in 2007’s “American Gangster,” is returning to Harlem to develop a television series based on his life.

We’re told “Blue Magic,” based on the name of the heroin Lucas hustled in Harlem in the late 1960s and early ’70s, will be set in the ’70s and is expected to start filming in New York in August.

According to an insider, Lucas is hoping Jay Z, whose 10th album is titled “American Gangster,” would be interested in coming on as a producer of the show.

Lucas, who was released from his second stint in prison in 1991 after serving seven years and is now in a wheelchair following a car accident, will appear on the series telling his life story.
