Station KTVA-TV Anchorage reporter Charlo Greene was on live television Sunday night when she began to report on the state’s upcoming marijuana vote and the Alaska Cannabis Club, a medical marijuana dispensary.

After the reporter mentioned the club, she revealed to the viewers that she was also its owner, hurled out an expletive, then quit on the air, blindsiding the news show’s female anchor, who then began flubbing her words, reports.

The reporter never mentioned her ownership connection to the dispensary before quitting her job.  It was only towards the end that Greene stated, she would dedicate “all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska.”

Greene then went on to shock the viewers and anchor by stating, “And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice, but, F**k it, I quit.”

After Greene threw out the expletive and announced she would be quitting her job, she walked off camera.

Ironically, Greene had reported on the Alaska Cannabis Club earlier in the year and never once made mention that she was the owner.  The club opened in April and connects medical marijuana cardholders with other cardholders who are growing cannabis.

Sunday night KTVA’s news director, Burt Rudman, posted a statement about Greene’s on-air antics on the station’s Facebook page:

“We sincerely apologize for the inappropriate language used by a KTVA reporter during her live presentation on the air tonight. The employee has been terminated.”

But how can Greene be terminated when she clearly quit on-air?

Meanwhile, Alaska voters will decide on November 4 as to whether or not to legalize the recreational use of marijuana within the state.
