CRAZED GUNMAN DRESSED LIKE 'RAMBO' SHOOTS UP FEDEX FACILITY IN ATLANTA KILLING HIMSELF AND 6 CO-WORKERS

A crazed gunman – dressed like “Rambo” and bent on “heading into war” – shot six co-workers and killed himself at a FedEx facility near Atlanta on Tuesday, police said.

After the first calls for help came at 5:54 a.m., hundreds of cops and paramedics rushed to the delivery service’s operation, at 1675 Airport Road in Kennesaw, Ga.

Of the six wounded people taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, at least one of them was listed in critical condition, officials said.

“We have one individual that is deceased that we are describing as the suspect,” Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“He is probably deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was located in the bay area of FedEx. We are completing the ground floor sweep at this point with the assistance of K-9.”

Witnesses said the shooter was a 19-year-old package loader,  clerk Liza Aiken told the newspaper.

The dead gunman was armed with an assault rifle, knife and had bullets strapped across his chest “like he was Rambo,”  according to Aiken.

“I looked to my left. I saw him standing there and the knife was on the ground.

He dropped his knife. He had bullets strapped across his chest,” Aiken said.

“I mean he looked like he was heading into war. As soon as I saw him, I ran the other way. I ran and made sure that people upstairs were gone. He was in all black. I think he had a camo vest. He had an assault rifle and bullets strapped to his chest.”

The FedEx facility is in Cobb County, about 25 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta.

“[My boss] called me about 6 o’clock this morning saying there was a guy inside, shot the security guard,” ground driver Michael Hogland said. “He had a gun pointed at him and said, ‘Don’t worry about getting here on time.’ ”

Company officials pledged to help cops in their investigation.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected, and with their families and friends,”  FedEx spokesman  Scott Fiedler said.

“The situation is now stabilized and we are focused on the needs of our team members and cooperating with the law enforcement investigation of this tragedy.”
