JAMAICAN ATHLETE CAVAHN MCKENZIE COLLAPSES AND DIES WHILE COMPETING IN TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

Jamaican athlete Cavahn McKenzie collapsed and died on Saturday while competing in the junior men’s six-kilometer in Trinidad & Tobago.

He was competing in the North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Cross Country Championships.

The news sent shockwaves throughout the Jamaican Track & Field community. Thousands of Caribbean national send their condolences to McKenzie’s family on social media.

Cavahn McKenzie, who is a St Jago High School athlete, reportedly completed the race in 20 minutes, 26 seconds to finished 21. He reported collapsed soon after and died while on the way to the hospital.

Reports suggest that he died from cardiac arrest.
