The young accomplice of alleged baby killer, De’Marquise Elkins, 17, pointed him out in a crowded Cobb County courtroom today.
15-year-old Dominique Lang was also charged with the murder of 13-month-old Antonio Santiago. Lang, who is awaiting his own trial, testified that Elkins started counting down from 5 before firing a bullet between the baby’s eyes after attempting to rob the baby’s mother, Sherry West, on March 21.

“The baby was in the stroller screaming,” said Lang, who initially lied to police investigators, saying he was unaware Elkins (pictured above) had a gun. Elkins, now 18, is charged with a laundry list of offenses including malice murder, felony murder, and child cruelty.

Elkins’ supporters attempted to sway public opinion by twisting the facts surrounding a ballistics test that showed Sherry West had gun powder on her hands.

Elkins’ mother, Karimah Elkins, is also on trial for evidence tampering and lying to police, according to media reports.
