EX-KENTUCKY WILDCAT MICHAEL PORTER GETS 2 YRS FOR SEX WITH UNDERAGE GIRL WHEN SHE WAS 14 & 15

MICHAEL PORTER
A Fayette County judge on Thursday sentenced former University of Kentucky basketball player Michael Porter to two years in prison on Thursday for committing sex acts with an underage girl.
Police arrested Porter in May of 2012 following an investigation that turned up evidence he had sexual relations with a girl at church functions, where Porter was a group leader. The incidents happened from November 2009 to April 2010, when the girl was 14 and 15 years old.

Porter pleaded guilty to the crime in May. He was originally scheduled for sentencing last month, but the process was delayed when the defense asked the judge to recuse himself.
On Thursday, Porter spoke before the judge and apologized for his actions, according to WKYT in Lexington. The judge denied Porter's request for probation.

Porter was accused of six counts of third-degree sodomy and three counts of first-degree sexual abuse.

A 6-foot-3 guard, Porter played three seasons at UK, from 2006-2009, and left the team before his senior year saying he wanted to spend more time with family. He averaged 2.7 points per game.
