Stephens was in her feelings when Serena Williams unfollowed her on Twitter and eased up on the communication after Stephens beat her at the Australian Open.

What Stephens needs to learn is in the world of professional sports, you have no friends. You can’t be buddy buddy with everyone and Serena sees her a threat, so I am not surprised she doesn’t want to do girl talk with her. Serena took the high road and realized it was Stephens’ youth talking and squashed the beef.


“I’m a big Sloane Stephens fan and always have been. I’ve always said that I think she can be the best in the world. I’ll always continue to think that and always be rooting for her.”

Stephens seemed to understand that she was only making herself look bad and issued an apology on Twitter.
