PRESIDENT OBAMA'S DAUGHTERS USED BY NRA TO SHOW HYPOCRISY WITH HIS STANCE ON GUN CONTROL DEBATE

The NRA  has dragged President Obama’s daughters into the raging gun control debate.
The powerful gun lobby released a highly-personal commercial calling the commander-in-chief an “elitist hypocrite” because his girls get armed Secret Service protection.
The NRA commercial was unveiled as President Obama prepared Wednesday to outline new gun control legislation.
"Are the president's kids more important than yours?" the narrator of the commercial asks.
"Then why is he skeptical about putting armed security in our schools when his kids are protected by armed guards at their schools? Mr. Obama demands the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes, but he's just another elitist hypocrite when it comes to a fair share of security."
The White House has not responded to the commercial, but former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Wednesday the ad went too far in attacking the president and dragging daughters Malia, 14 and Sasha, 11, into the political fight.
“I mean, it is disgusting on many levels,” Gibbs said. “It’s also just stupid.”
The ad takes issue with the Obama administration’s hesitancy to endorse the idea that armed guards could prevent tragedies like the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Conn.
“I am skeptical that the only answer is putting more guns in schools,” Obama told NBC’s Meet the Press. “And I think the vast majority of the American people are skeptical that that somehow is going to solve our problem.”
Vice President Joe Biden spent last week meeting with pro-gun groups, the video game industry and victims of gun violence trying to hammer out a plan to curb gun violence in the country. He submitted his recommendations to the president on Tuesday.
