COPS NAB SUSPECTED HARLEM "ELEVATOR MUGGER" ON NEW JERSEY BUS


Cops nabbed the suspect accused of violently mugging more than a half-dozen Asian residents in East Harlem, law enforcement source said today.

Jason Commisso, 34, was on a bus in New Jersey when he was nabbed by state troopers and New York police last night, sources said.

Commisso was still in custody Jersey this morning, awaiting extradition to New York.
He was on a southbound Greyhound bus near Interchange 2 on the New Jersey Turnpike in Gloucester County when cops nailed him, police sources told WABC-TV.
The punk behind these hateful attacks last struck Saturday morning when he attacked a 57-year-old man inside of an elevator on East 97th Street, police said. He fled with the man’s cell phone, wallet and cash, police said.
In all eight robberies, Commisso has targeted Asian men and women inside of elevators, police said.That victim was treated at Metropolitan Hospital for a broken nose, cops said.
Cops haven’t officially labeled the muggings as bias attacks but NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly said the hate crime unit is involved.
Commisso has been picked out of a photo array by victims.
He has a mile-long rap sheet with more than 30 arrests for robbery, arson, assault, drugs and other crimes, cops said.
