
The late Godfather of Soul's daughter was arrested in Augusta early Tuesday after reportedly stealing a vehicle from an HIV/AIDS outreach group over the weekend and then crashing the vehicle during a hit-and-run wreck in North Augusts the following Monday.

Her bond has been set at $5,700 in Augusta, but she will be held on North Augusta's charges until she can be extradited to South Carolina where she faces charges for assault and battery and hit and run.
Officials with North Augusta Public Safety released details about the wreck to the media, asking for the public's help locating Brown.
In North Augusta, around 9 a.m. on Monday, North Augusta Public Safety responded to the intersection of West and Pine Grove avenues where 46-year-old Hope Ellis Campbell of Grovetown, Ga., was injured during a motor vehicle collision that occurred outside a Regions Bank, according to North Augusta Public Safety Lt. Tim Thornton.
The vehicle Brown was reportedly driving was stolen Sunday from St. Stephens Ministries in Augusta, officials said.
The victim, an employee at the outreach ministry, pulled into Regions Bank when she spotted the alleged stolen vehicle. She said she attempted to secure the stolen Suburban by reaching inside the vehicle for the keys, police said.
Brown accelerated the Suburban, allegedly dragging Campbell over the hood of another vehicle parked in front of the Suburban, police said.
Brown reportedly left the scene of the accident.
Campbell was injured and transported to the hospital by ambulance, police said.
Deputies in Augusta said Brown was involved in a disturbance on Broad Street early Tuesday, and she was taken into custody after police arrived.
