The music world is still buzzing over news of the upcoming "Made in America" two day festival that will be going down in Philadelphia come September. Jay-Z, who made the announcement on Monday, recently spoke in depth about the festival and possibly persuading President Obama to come down and sing some of Al Green's stuff.
Jay said he was looking for artists who bring American spirit, so who better than the President of the United States?
"Ah, yeah, that guy. I'm gonna try. I'm gonna tell you guys right now: I'm gonna give him a call and I'm gonna try to get him to perform – do a little rendition of Al Green – but I doubt it. I think that opens up the political season. He'll be so far into helping the world that he probably won't have time, but I'm absolutely going to ask him."
Hov also touched on his idea of the American spirit.
"American spirit is "Pull yourself up by the bootstraps," the whole, "You can make it anywhere" sort of mentality that our generation really, really put to the forefront, really took it over the top. But yeah, just that sort of embodiment of spirit."
Would you like to see the President on stage, possibly along with Jay?
