One World Trade Center Set To Surpass Empire State Building As City's Tallest (VIDEO)

The most expensive building in the world will soon be taller than the Empire State Building. The New York Daily News recently got an exclusive look at One World Trade Center which, now at 93 floors tall (1,208 feet), is set to surpass the height of the ESB in as little as four weeks.

When all 104 stories are completed by 2014, 1 WTC will stretch 1,776 feet--including the spire and antennae-- into the Manhattan skyline. Sightseers will be able to look out over New York from a three-level observation deck on the 101st, 102nd, and 103rd floors.

"When we first got here, it was The Pit — nasty, sad and dreary — a hole in the ground filled with ashes, a place where everybody looked down,” Michael O’Reilly, 37, a second-generation ironworker from Amityville, N.J. working on the tower, told The News. “Now, instead of looking down into the rubble, people are looking up into the sky ... high into the sky. And instead of mourning, instead of crying, they are now smiling.”
