Miami Heat Star Mario Chalmers Purchases Drake's Miami Crib

Young Money star Drake has finally sold his pricey luxury Florida
mansion to hometown Miami Heat basketball star Mario Chalmers.

According to reports, the five-bedroom crib sold for just over $2.5
million on Thursday (March 8). South Beach-based attorney Matthew
Krieger represented Miami Heat player Mario Chalmers in the $2.6
million purchase of a five bedroom, six bath condo (created by merging
two units together) at the Marquis in downtown Miami. Seller? Aubrey
Graham, better known as Canadian rapper Drake. (Miami Herald) Real
estate agents have spoken on just how luxurious the rapper's
now-former crib is. A great deal, according to listing agent Jill
Eber, considering that the apartment is located in one of Miami's
"most elegant" buildings, the Marquis Residences. The new buyer, like
Drizzy Drake before him, will enjoy 20-foot ceilings, glass walls,
marble staircases and views of Biscayne Bay. The Marquis also offers
A-list amenities such as an open-air sky pool deck, a signature spa
and fitness center by RockResorts, private elevators and valet
parking. "It's a spectacular property, in the heart of Miami," says
Coldwell Banker's Danny Hertzberg, a member of the property's real
estate team, The Jills. "The opportunity to work with Drake and his
team was fantastic." (Aol Real Estate)
Back in January, reports landed online claiming Drizzy was selling two
Miami hot spots. Drake is trying to unload 2 massive luxury beach
condos he owns in Miami, TMZ has learned -- and you might recognize
them ... because they're featured in the rapper's music video for "I'm
on One." Drake put the properties up for sale last week -- located
right nextdoor to each other in Miami's ritzy Marquis highrise --
listing one for $1.9 million and the other for $599,000. Drake
combined the two into one MASSIVE condo, and lived in both
simultaneously. The larger one is a sprawling 3,800 square feet with 3
bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. The "smaller" one-bedroom condo is still
gigantic ... at 1,675 square feet. (TMZ)
Drizzy reportedly owned the two spots for under a year at the time of
his for sale listing. Drake purchased the properties together in
January 2011 for a combined price of $1.903 million. So, if Drake gets
his asking price ... he'll make $596,000 in profit (even though no one
ever gets their asking price). But still, it's pretty awesome --
considering all the other famous people who've been forced to sell
their real estate at massive losses ... including Beyonce, Terrell
Owens and Chris Tucker. (TMZ)
