VIN DIESEL MAKES AN ANNOUNCEMENT THAT FURIOUS 8 GETS A RELEASE DATE

It looks like Universal is moving ahead with plans for a Fast and Furious 8.

During Cinema Con in Las Vegas, Vin Diesel made the big announcement telling fans, “Furious 8 already has a release date: April 14, 2017.” Cast members Ludacris and Tyrese also revealed the news via their Instagram pages. But it isn’t so surprising to us.

When Dwayne Johnson sat down in a recent interview about the junket for Furious 7, he told us that there were definitely more miles left in the franchise.

“I think there may be another one,” said Johnson. “I think there are a few more miles left on this franchise. They are talking about it now and we can have early discussions about it now which I’m cool with. But I think let’s let Furious 7 come out and see how the fans respond to it.”

Furious 7 brought in a whopping $1.15 billion worldwide and is on track to make more then $1.4 billion in total. Diesel didn’t reveal more details about the next film, but we have a feeling eight won’t be the last.
