The IG captions from the rap stars’ respective posts read, “Late night cook up,” and “#MMG X #DC.”–Meek Mill and Wale Reunited and In the Studio after an evening session in Los Angeles, seemingly putting the past behind them for a “teamwork makes the dream work” collaboration yet unannounced.
If you’re wondering what separated them in the first place–or why some this may or may not qualify as “beef,” the moments leading up to Meek Mill and Wale Reunited and In the Studio were laced with the effects of silence and side-eyes instead of juggular-aimed disses or violence. Still you might agree that questionable if-not toxic energy (+ social media) can do damage to an otherwise winning situation no matter who you are:
“In July of 2014, the pair appeared to be at odds with one another after Meek took to his Twitter account to express his grievances with his label mate. At the time, Meek called Wale a “cornball” for not supporting his album and secretively hating on him behind closed doors. Wale responded via Instagram by disputing Meek’s claims.”
In terms of what’s to come from Meek Mill and Wale Reunited and In the Studio, looks like we’ll all have to stay tuned. In the meantime, Wale continues moving past dramatic headlines onto the March release date for “The Album About Nothing.” He’s also been busy doing a slew of features as well as (an art “Exhibit “About Nothing?)–press, promo and behind the scenes media for the “Simply Nothing” tour. On the flipside Meek’s Dreams Worth More Than Money is still upcoming and* the tease about him and Nicki Minaj touring together seems to be coming true. While the MMG Self Made Vol. 4 mixtape is also in the works, the two have hinted at a collaborative mixtape in the past.
