SWAT TEAM RAID NETS EX-NBA PLAYER IN RING OF DRUGS, GUNS, PROSTITUTES, AND AN UNDERGROUND BUNKER

A SWAT team raid near Redmond, Washington, reportedly turned up even more evidence than the police were looking for earlier this month. Drugs, guns, prostitutes, underground bunker, and ex-Seattle Sonic Robert Swift.

Don’t remember him? Well, first off, he’s hard to miss, at 7 feet 1, covered in tats and red hair.

The Sonics drafted him right out of high school 12th overall in 2004. Now 28, he’s been out of the league since 2009, but rarely played much during his time anyway.

He stayed in the Seattle area, even refusing to leave the house he bought there after it went into foreclosure. When the house was eventually sold and he was forced out, the new owners reportedly found a gruesome scene — complete with animal feces, garbage, gun shells and more lovely stuff.

But back to the Oct. 4 raid, as printed in a story by the Kirkland Reporter. It should be noted that Swift wasn’t the subject of the raid or even arrested, but it does appear he lives at the house, where the owner, 54-year-old Trygve Lief Bjorkstam, was charged with making and selling methamphetamine and heroin, the report says.

Police also reportedly found 26 weapons and the aforementioned bunker in the basement. Citing police and court documents, the Kirkland Reporter story says the bunker had been built to grow marijuana but had been converted to a shooting range.

According to previous reports and neighbor complaints, prostitutes also rented rooms in the house — which sits 300 feet from an elementary school — and frequently had their customers coming and going through windows on the side of the house.

Bjorkstam had his bail set at $60,000. A neighbor described him as a former Boeing engineer who fell into drugs and alcohol after losing his job in 1992.

As for Swift, he last played professional ball with the Tokyo Apache in Japan.

The new owners reportedly discovered an underground shooting range there, too.
