HEROIN DEALING SUSPECT CUFFED IN POLICE CAR ESCAPES AND STEALS THE UNMARKED VEHICLE

BRYAN MCMENAMIN
The heroin “Houdini” who escaped Queens cops and took off in their unmarked car has been caught, sources said on Tuesday.

Bryan McMenamin was busted for selling dope around 7 p.m. Monday and was left in the back of the car with a second suspect when cops went to investigate another crime, police said.

McMenamin allegedly scrambled into the front seat and sped off from Cooper Street, injuring a Queens Narcotics detective as he fled, officials said.

He parked the stolen police car about a mile away and ran off, cops added.

When police found their vehicle, they discovered the second man still in the back, pleading with them to believe he had “nothing to do with taking the car,” sources said.

The detective who was struck during the wild escape was taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital for an injury to his leg.

McMenamin was found Tuesday afternoon and charges are pending, police said.
