50 CENT NABS DEAL TO BRING BIG MEECH'S BMF TO THE BIG SCREEN

50 CENT & BIG MEECH
Entertainment bigwigs must have known that 50 Cent’s executive skills behind the screen would equate to a major impact.

Barely removed from having a stellar premiere for his new Hip-Hop drama Power on Starz, Cheeta Vision productions has nabbed the Animal Ambition rapper to be the chairman for one of rap’s most controversial stories: the Black Mafia Family. “I’m out of control now, watch my next move. STRATEGY,” said 50 on his social media accounts attached to a promo picture of the movie which appears to have a working title of B.M.F.: Welcome to the South.

For the uninitiated, the Black Mafia Family was an organized crime syndicate spearheaded by brothers Demetrius (a.k.a. “Big Meech”) and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory.

Their operation spanned from Detroit, Los Angeles and primarily Atlanta and at the time of their arrests in 2005, the DEA had seized more than $270 million in assets.

Both brothers are currently serving 30-to-life sentences in prison. It should come as a surprise to rap fans that it’s 50 and not rappers Young Jeezy or Bleu Davinci who aren’t in close proximity to the project.

Both artists have direct ties with the crime family, although both have publicly fell out with one another with the dissolution of the operation. Rick Ross was also embroiled in a bit of beef at the top of the decade when he made a song referencing the B.M.F. without prior affiliation.

According to ThisIs50, no additional announcements of filming dates have been revealed but given 50′s current track record, it should be sooner than later.
