Rapper 2 Chainz looks to be in serious legal trouble ten months after he was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport.


The 36-year-old, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, has been charged with felony drug possession, reports TMZ, after TSA officials found codeine – the key ingredient for “sizzurp” – in his checked luggage last June.

The drug - a cough syrup with codeine and promethazine usually mixed with a fruit-flavored drink - has been linked to a number of musical stars including Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne.

After Lil Wayne suffered a series of seizures early last year, many wondered if his affection for the codeine-laced concoction was to blame.

If he’s found guilty, 2 Chainz faces up to three year in prison. He is set to be arraigned next week.
