| RAJON RONDO - BOSTON CELTICS |
Rondo, the only remnant from the 2008 championship team and 2010 Finals team, is expected to be traded for assets like future draft picks and young players, according to our sources.
"More than a few GMs around the league expect Rondo to be on the move, if not at the trading deadline next month, then maybe in June at draft time,".
Rondo has one more season in his contract that pays him $13 million. He is widely regarded as a top five point guard, despite sitting out for almost a year. He returned to action on Friday against the LA Lakers, and scored eight points in limited minutes.
"But he's got all kinds of baggage, having had some infamous run-ins with Doc Rivers and Ray Allen when the Celtics were winning the Eastern Conference title twice in a three-year span,".
Our sources also speculates that the Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets are two potential destinations for Rondo, with Dallas Mavericks a darkhorse as Mavs owner Mark Cuban has always been interested in the four-time All-Star. The Mavs, however, don't have enough assets to trade for him.
The Celtics are busy accumulating future draft picks in recent weeks, trading away the season revelation Jordan Crawford and MarShon Brooks to the Golden State Warriors and netting two more draft picks. The team now has 17 potential draft picks in the next five seasons.
