KENRICK GRAY
Kenrick Gray who was awarded $125,000 stop and frisk settlement was shot and killed by a robber on Staten Island Tuesday night after allegedly bragging about the windfall, sources said.

Gray, 34, was brutally blasted in the head around 6:15 p.m. outside 140 Park Hill Avenue in Stapleton after flaunting his riches in recent months, police said.

His pal, Noland Whistleton, 41, was also fatally shot in the leg and torso during the botched robbery, cops said.

Police collared suspect Darren Brown, 27, hiding in the shower of his girlfriend’s Staten Island home Wednesday afternoon in connection with the shooting.

Gray landed his loot after being falsely stopped by disgraced NYPD cop Michael Daragjati in 2011. The officer, who was once caught on surveillance bragging that he “fried another n—-,” is currently serving out a five-year sentence in Ohio on an unrelated extortion case.

Gray, who had several prior arrests for drug possession, boasted about his good fortune around his neighborhood – and became a target, a source close to the case said.

“Mr. Gray recently made known throughout hood that he received the windfall and that very foolish boast did cost him his life,” the source said. “He has been running his mouth about getting the settlement and apparently the assailant caught wind of that and tried to rob him. There was a struggle and he was shot.”

It was not immediately clear how much money Gray was carrying when he was gunned down or whether the suspect finally made off with his cash.

Whistleton was about to go on trial for attempted rape and was out on $35,000 bail, sources said.

The two men had over 25 prior arrests between them, sources said.
