The San Diego Tunnel Task Force said that the tunnel, linking two warehouses in Otay Mesa, California and Tijuana, Mexico, includes rail tracks, ventilation and lighting, according to NBC News.
The “supertunnel” stretches for about a third of a mile and is an average of about 35 feet deep, the station said.
Authorities said Thursday that the tunnel took “years and tens of millions of dollars” for drug runners to build.
