OHIO TEACHER SUSPENDED WITH PAY FOR FACEBOOK POST ABOUT N*GGA 'TRICK OR TREATERS'

DAVID SPONDIKE
Ohio teacher Dr. David Spondike, 51, was suspended with pay Monday after posting a racist Facebook rant about Black trick-or-treaters.
Spondike, a former production assistant on The Jerry Springer Show who teaches music at the predominately Black Firestone High School in Akron, complained about “ghetto” trick-or-treaters who urinate on telephone poles.

The teacher twice referred to “n***ers” in his Halloween post.

After deleting it, Spondike posted the usual non-apology.

From Spondike’s Facebook page via the Akron News Now:

1. The post contains the “n-word”.
2. I sincerely apologize to those who are sincerely offended by the post; it was promptly removed.
3. I am not going to say that “someone hacked my Facebook page”, like most people do.
4. “Racism” implies prejudging, which is clearly not what happened here.
5. Making any excuse for allowing one race to use a word and condemning another race for using the same word is institutionalized racism in and of itself, regardless of the justification used.
6. The incident surrounds the criminal behavior described below, where a teenager exposed himself in front of young children, urinating on a telephone pole in broad daylight during trick-or-treating.

In another post, Spondike insinuated that it’s racist for Black people to get upset by White people using the n-word:
“Making any excuse for allowing one race to use a word and condemning another race for using the same word is institutionalized racism in and of itself, regardless of the justification used.”
This is the fourth time that the Akron Public School District has had to take disciplinary action against Spondike. Other incidents include spitting on the floor in front of a student who had fallen asleep and throwing a chair against a wall.

He was also accused of physically assaulting a middle school student, but there was not enough evidence to file charges.

Akron Public Schools Superintendent David James expressed his disappointment in the situation.
“I was actually shocked that a person who’s in a school that has a large minority population who actually live in the neighborhood, who works with kids of color on a daily basis, with staff members or with a superintendent, with a lot of different officials. We’re in a multicultural society,” he said. “I was actually shocked and very disappointed.”
Though Spondike made it clear that his account wasn’t hacked and continued to engage friends on Facebook after his initial post, the school district will proceed with an investigation to confirm that he was in fact the user who made the post before further action is taken.

According to James, Spondike may have violated several policies, including “policies governing racist language, speech in non-instructional settings, and acceptable use of technology.”

If that is determined to be the case at the investigation’s conclusion, the findings will be forwarded to the Ohio Department of Education.

To paraphrase Malcolm X (El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz), these are the enemies teaching young, Black children. There is little wonder why more Black families are turning to homeschooling as a viable option.
