CHRIS BROWN |
Brown was charged with a hit-and-run after a May 21 incident where the “Don’t Wake Me Up” singer allegedly hit a woman’s car, refused to provide his driver’s license number, then fled the scene of the accident.
E! Online reports that records from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department show Brown turned himself into authorities yesterday afternoon shortly before 3pm, and was released less than an hour later.
He wasn’t arrested at the time, but his lawyer Mark Geragos entered a not guilty plea on his behalf last month. According to E! Online, a judge ordered Brown to turn himself in with proof of booking to the court by no later than Aug. 6.
The judge also revoked Brown's felony probation from his 2009 domestic assault of his then girlfriend, Rihanna.
A trial in the hit-and-run case is scheduled for Aug. 15, while a judge also set a probation violation hearing for three days later, on Aug. 18.
A day after his release, Brown shocked fans on Twitter by insisting he’s ready to end his music career.
The singer, who is expected to release his latest album, “X,” this month, hinted that the album could be his last, explaining he’s tired of his past legal troubles—particularly the assault case involving Rihanna--- overshadowing his work.
1.“Don't worry mainstream America. After this X album, it'll probably be my last album,” Brown posted on Twitter Tuesday morning. “Being famous is amazing when it's for ur music and talent. I'm tired of being famous for a mistake I made when I was 18. I'm cool & over it!”
