CEE-LO GREEN SAYS ANDRE 3000 HAS STAGE FRIGHT AND IS AFRAID OF THE BAR HE SET

CEE-LO GREEN
Cee-Lo Green has known OutKast’s Andre 3000 since the two were in the third grade, and the Dungeon Family members have remained close as both of their stars have risen in the music industry over the past two decades.
So with rumors abounding of a new Andre solo album and Cee-Lo’s Goodie Mob out on a press tour in support of their new album Age Against The Machine, Cee-Lo was asked about his childhood friend at a recent stop by MTV’s RapFix Live.

“He just said he had a severe case of stage fright and just kind of been away from the game and didn’t know if he could truly live up…” Cee-Lo said on Andre’s possible return to music. “He just said he was bothered by this bar that had been set and maybe he wants to do something different, and he’ll always be his worst competition, his worst critic and maybe he don’t want to live up to what people think he should do.”

Andre’s been on his acting grind lately, with a Jimi Hendrix biopic in the works, but BET’s Stephen Hill apparently ran into him recently and was told to expect an Andre solo album at the top of the year. The Mob wasn’t too sure that was going to happen, but didn’t rule anything out.

“He’s always been exceptional and ahead of his time anyway,” Cee-Lo said. “So anything he decides to do, next year or the year after that, we’ll still be catching with what’s on his mind.”
