MANNY PACQUIAO |
The fact that Pacquiao has to shoulder much less of a tax burden outside the United States, makes fighting elsewhere extremely attractive to both the boxer and the promoter. Arum was quoted with the following
By fighting outside the country, as he’s doing in this Rios fight, Manny doesn’t have to pay U.S. taxes anymore—at a rate of 40 percent for a foreign athlete. If this pay-per-view and other things take off like we think they may, I can’t imagine Pacquiao will ever again fight in the U.S.Now that actually does make a lot of sense to be honest. If he can pull in millions regardless, and avoid being taxed 40% then why would he want to fight here again. We all know Floyd dam sure will never fight Pacquiao out of the country so that would pretty much kill that fight forever, not that it was happening anytime soon. The numbers from the Manny-Rios fight will play a major factor in his future decisions.
