Lost Egyptian Pyramids Discovered With Help from Google Earth
Google Earth has been helpful at getting a real life view of far off places, but it's also been helpful in locating lost ancient Egyptian pyramids. Angela Micol, a satellite archaeology researcher in North Carolina, believes that she recently uncovered ancient pyramids that have been hiding out in plain sight.
The structure of the pyramids tipped Micol off, the diagonal structure were really similar to the famous pyramids at Giza. Micoi characterizes the first of the two sites as "a distinct, four-sided, truncated, pyramidal shape that is approximately 140 feet in width." The second site contains four mounds, the largest 250 feet in width and is flanked by two smaller mounds, looking to be around 100 feet in width.
Macoi has yet to share the location of the pyramids, as she wants them to first be identified and protected by Egyptian officials.
