In recent years as a result of crime and violence there have many countless homicides of young people in the urban cities of Westchester County. Many children have witnessed their friends lose their lives for no reason. Youth live in fear of being shot, shot at or killed just going to the store, coming home from school, or playing in the park.
As a law enforcement organization, we understand that crime and violence is a result of many factors; low unemployment, lack of economic development, education and absent of positive role models for our youth.
On August 5, 2012, at Secor Woods Park, Secor Rd, Hartsdale, New York, BLEA will be hosting our annual family day BBQ. This year is very special because we are honoring the mothers and families that have lost a loved one to crime and violence.
