The mysterious case of the hallucinogenic drug known as "Bath Salts" or "Cloud 9", continues in Miami. This past Saturday, June 2nd, 21-year-old Brandon De Leon was apparently high on Cloud 9 when he approached two North Miami Beach officers who were dining inside of a Boston Market, and challenged them to a fight. De Leon, who is a homeless man, appeared extremely enraged, so the officers had no choice but to place him under arrest.
While seated in the back seat of the police cruiser Brandon growled at the officers and told them, "I'm going to eat you."
When the police placed Brandon in the holding cell at the police station, he began growling like a rabid dog and smashed his head against the cell wall repeatedly. When officers tried to come inside of the cell to restrain him, he tried to "bite off one of the officer's hands" according to police reports.
"Brandon growled and opened and closed his jaw, slamming his teeth like an animal would...He also barked and growled inside of a cell," the report stated.
Brandon told the judge during his hearing that he "had no recollection of anything that happened that night." He his currently being held in jail with his bond set at $5,500.
This is the second incident that has occurred within the last two weeks involving men acting violent and crazy while under the influence of these "Bath Salts/Cloud 9."
Coincidence? Or is there some greater conspiracy going on behind the public eye that no one is willing to reveal?
Regardless, the North Miami Beach Police has issued a warning to all officers to beware of any homeless individuals they encounter from here on out.
