SUGE KNIGHT'S MURDER ARREST FOR HIT-AND-RUN HAS HIS ATTORNEY SAYING IT WAS AN ACCIDENT

SUGE KNIGHT
Suge Knight was officially charged and arrested on suspicion of murder for his alleged involvement in Thursday’s hit-and-run that left another man dead.

Knight was arrested at about 3 a.m. and was being held on $2 million bail, said Sgt. Diane Hecht of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s information office. She said he is being held at the West Hollywood sheriff’s station.

Knight had turned himself into authorities early Friday. His attorney said the rap mogul accidentally ran over and killed a friend and injured another man as he fled attackers.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the incident was being investigated as a homicide and that Knight was a person of interest.

Knight was wanted for questioning in the incident after police named him a person of interest on Thursday evening. He arrived at the jail with his attorney James Blatt, who later said “We are confident that once the investigation is completed, he will be totally exonerated.” Blatt contends that it was an accident and Suge was trying to escape being assaulted.

Police seem to tell a different story given what they’ve apparently been told by witnesses. Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. John Corina told reporters, “Looks like he drove backwards and struck the victims and drove forwards and struck them again. The people we talked to say it looked like it was an intentional act.”

Intentional or not, Suge Knight’s name is in headlines once again for a violent situation that turned deadly.
