The picture takes a shot at P. Diddy, who is the brand ambassador for Cîroc who helped catapult the once-struggling spirit into the second most popular premium vodka in the world.
The photograph was supposed to be a promotional bit for a new brand of vodka that 50 Cent is endorsing called EFFEN Vodka. It not so subtly suggested that drinking Cîroc was similar to dancing with plus-sized women.
Instead of drumming up interest in the vodka, the picture largely drew criticism for making fun of overweight people.
Diddy didn’t directly acknowledge the brief controversy, either, although he did post a picture on his Instagram that read, “If it ain’t making me money, making me better or making me happy…ain’t making time for it.”
