Not only will the “Flawless” singer grace the stage with a performance, she will also be honored with the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, the VMAs’ highest honor.
The illustrious list of past recipients includes Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Madonna, and the King of Pop himself.
BeyoncĂ© leads the nominations for this year’s VMAs with eight total including Video for the Year for the Jay Z-assisted “Drunk in Love.”
She last performed “Love on Top” at the 2011 VMAs, where she announced her pregnancy.
The VMAs will air live from The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. on Sunday, August 24, at 9 p.m. Previously announced performers include Usher, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Maroon 5.
On Wednesday, she and Jay Z wrapped the U.S. leg of their “On the Run Tour” at San Francisco’s AT&T Park. They will perform two nights in Paris on September 12 and 13, which will be taped for their upcoming HBO special, airing September 20.
