The mother-of-two, famous for her TV roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Third Watch, said of the fragrance in a press release:
"Elizabeth Taylor said White Diamonds was her “Diamonds In A Bottle,” and that’s what Lustre really is to me – Lustre just adds that extra sparkle. I personally love the juicy pear and raspberry notes in Lustre – it gives it a fresh, fruity feminine touch."

Until this point Elizabeth Taylor who died in 2011 at the age of 79 has posthumously appeared in ads for the fragrance, as marketers have continued to air TV spots that were filmed years before her death.
The ads would run at a particularly high frequency during the holiday months when fragrance sales hit their yearly peak. White Diamonds, launched in 1991, was once named ‘the most popular celebrity fragrance in the world,’ by The Hollywood Reporter.
Sales statistics show that it has grossed $1billion in sales in the last 23 years a number that has yet to be matched by other products in the ever-expanding celebrity fragrance category. Produced by Elizabeth Arden, White Diamonds has gone on to launch variations including Lustre, which was developed to include lighter, fruitier notes.
When we hear “White Diamonds” perfume, we automatically think Elizabeth Taylor. And elderly white women, now actress Nia Long is now replacing that image as the brand ambassador for the new White Diamonds called White Diamonds Lustre.
Its best-selling predecessor, Lustre “reflects the light of the most precious stone, the diamond, and sparkles with the energy of youth, the vibrancy of a strong personality, and the mystery of what might come next.” It explores the “fresh side” of the original fragrance.
They chose the classiest black woman who is talented, who is a mom and as inspiration to all women of races and colors.
