The 58-year-old Meaney approached the 29-year-old woman as she was walking and elbowed her in the chest for no apparent reason, Port Authority Police said.
Meaney, who lives in Manhattan, was arrested on assault charges without incident, police said.
The woman complained of chest pain, but refused medical attention, police said.
This is not the first airport incident involving the comedian.
In 2002, Meaney was arrested at San Francisco International Airport for allegedly grabbing a National Guardsman’s M-16 rifle after being accused of taking video of a security checkpoint, the New York Daily News reported.
Meaney performed in “Hairspray, The Musical” on Broadway, starred in the 1990 television comedy series “Uncle Buck” and has appeared in other shows including “30 Rock,” according to his IMDB page.
Guess he lives up to his last name...
