(18 & OLDER) SALUTE TO THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN PLAYBOY MAGAZINE PLAYMATES WHO BROKE THE MOLD

DARINE STERN, 1971
The African-American women of Playboy Magazine who've reached Playmate status, we salute you!!

Over the years many beautiful women have graced the cover of Playboy Magazine.  Some of whom were famous before and all of whom were famous after.  The highlight of being in this legendary magazine for very few women was achieving the glorified "Playmate" status.

Playboy magazine to a boy growing up in the 80's was the closest thing to porn there was, until the internet took off.  However, if you were African-American it was the Jet Magazine "Beauty Of The Week".  Jet Mag caught on to something when they created their version of the Playboy Playmate because now men of color were buying their subscriptions.

Playboy and Hustler were both global but at the time had very few African-American women featured in their men's magazine.  This is very hard to believe and yet easy to understand.  The part that's hard to believe is corporate business cares about one color, that's green.  African-American women have been desired by every nationality on this earth before and after the days of slavery.  Master lustfully looking at the dark skin, hips, and lips of one of his finest Negros.  Yes, that's what they wanted, so why not give it to them?

However, the easy part to understand is these popular mags catered to their core audience of European Anglo-Saxon men in the U.S. and abroad. So, it was only natural to share the beauty of the women who favored their likeness.  Besides, that period in time's race relations were very tumultuous to say the least.

You would think Playboy's owner Hugh Hefner would've spent some of that cash daring to be a little more Sista-friendly.  The original playboy that he is in this instance still needs to be applauded.

The African-American Playboy Playmates who made it into the magazine we salute you whole-heartedly because as usual, the bar was set higher for them(they had to be gorgeous), but these black women still admirably demonstrated our sensuality to the mainstream.

As Lohan will make a small fortune for far less, these black Playboy Playmates of month from the past deserve our attention at this time. Check out these black beauties.
