GRAMBLING STATE FOOTBALL TEAM BOYCOTTS TWO PRACTICES BECAUSE OF COACH AND TREATMENT BY UNIVERSITY

GRAMBLING STATE UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL
If you have ever played team sports and really disliked your coach, then you have dreamed of doing this.
But to actual do it is a totally different thing. Grambling State University, the former home of one of the most famous college coaches of all time in Eddie Robinson, watched as it’s entire football team boycotted practice Wednesday and again yesterday. They were fed up with their current coach, as well as treatment from the school itself.

Specifics were not released, but the entire team was fed up with interim coach, George Ragsdale. He was appointed interim coach earlier this season after head coach and former Super Bowl MVP Doug Williams was fired after a terrible season last year and a bad start to this one.
DOUG WILLIAMS
For an entire team to be so disgusted with a coach that they took it to this extreme just shows you how bad the relationship between coach and player was. The fact they are currently 0-7 this season is also not helping things. Grambling State does have a game scheduled this Saturday against Jackson State, but as of right now the game is up in the air.

Players are also very upset with the school itself for making players travel by bus to games in Kansas City, MO, and Indiana. For those who don’t know, Grambling State is located in Louisiana. So traveling by bus that far of a distance already puts the team at a disadvantage.

Not too mention after a hard fought game, the last thing you want to do is get on a bus for 12-15 hours all sore and beat up, especially when there is no explanation at all for not flying as they usually do. A new coach has been named, Dennis Winston, who has been part of the program in the past and the kids seem to respect. Who knows how they will play out.
