NY JETS RUNNING BACK MIKE GOODSON ARRESTED ON DRUGS AND FIREARM CHARGES

MIKE GOODSON
Mike Goodson's tenure with the Jets got off to a very poor start Friday when the running back was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a handgun, the New Jersey State Police confirmed.
Officers told members of the media that Goodson was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, possession of an unlawful handgun, possession of a loaded gun and possession of hollow-point rounds.

Goodson was the passenger in a car whose driver was charged with DUI, although Goodson was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, reportedly because he was intoxicated.

The Jets targeted Goodson this offseason as a replacement for departed running back Shonn Greene and signed Goodson to a three-year deal worth $6.9 million.

Goodson, who has just three starts in his career (all with the Panthers), averaged 6.3 yards per carry while playing in 12 games with the Raiders in 2012. He looked to be an excellent complement for the Jets backfield, which also features Bilal Powell, Chris Ivory and Joe McKnight.
