(REALITY TV) MARRIED TO MEDICINE IS A RATINGS SUCCESS BUT CAN IT OUTDUEL REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATL?

Cast of Married to Medicine
Bravo's Married to Medicine is a ratings success!
Viewers didn't seem too impressed when Married to Medicine debuted to record breaking numbers. Many comments read like "really?" and "this show sucks" and "the ratings will drop." Um. Not so much.
I, too, expected the ratings to drop. In reality, however, Married to Medicine's ratings are going up! This past week, the much anticipated brawl between two cast members brought in 2.66 million viewers, a series high.

Married to Medicine follows the lives of two doctors, Dr. Jackie Walters and Dr. Simone Whitmore, and four doctor's wives. Oy vey – the wives. In one corner, we have Mariah Huq and Quad Lunceford-Webb, who struggle to shake their "ghetto" upbringing. In the other corner, we have Kari Wells and Toya Bush-Harris, who thrive off of throwing shade.
Thus far, each episode goes something like this: The two sides enter the party. Somebody's weave has got to go. Only one side will emerge victorious. Let's get ready to rumble! Of course it's a hit.
More than likely, Married to Medicine's success is partly due to its lead-in, the Real Housewives of Atlanta.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta continues to be a ratings hit for Bravo. Part two of the reunion attracted over 3.5 million viewers. The third and final part of the reunion airs next Sunday. Then, the "secrets revealed" episode, which features Phaedra Park's pet funerals, more Kim Zolciak, and the cast's reactions to the reunion, airs April 28th.
Whether or not Married to Medicine can stand on its own remains to be seen. I guess we'll find out once the Real Housewives of Atlanta no longer airs new episodes.
