| TV analysts Kendall Gill and Tim Doyle fight after broadcast. |
Former NBA veteran Kendall Gill has been temporarily suspended from his on-air position at Chicago's Comcast Sportsnet after an altercation occurred between Gill and Big Ten network analyst Tim Doyle.
According to Chicagobusiness.com, Gill approached Doyle after a taping of "Sports Talk Live," in which the Big Ten commentator challenged a comment made by Gill during his analysis segment of a Chicago Bulls - Denver Nuggets game. Gill believed that the goaltending call made in the closing seconds of the matchup was in fact a legitimate tip-in by Bulls forward Joakim Noah. The controversial call delivered the Nuggets a 119-118 overtime victory and handed the Bulls their fifth loss in seven games.
Doyle refuted Gill's comments on-air, angering the 15-year NBA veteran. The two commentators shoved one another after the show and Gill eventually struck Doyle in the face before bumping against a sign in the facility and drawing blood.
"We're looking further into the incident that took place in our newsroom earlier today," said CSN Chicago news director Kevin Cross in a statement."Until the investigation is complete, Kendall Gill will not be appearing on our air."
