U.K. BURGER KING FRANCHISES ADMITS TO HAVING HORSE MEAT INSIDE THEIR BEEF PRODUCT |
If you live in the U.K. and have enjoyed a tasty Whopper from Burger King lately, you might want to sit down as we tell you this. There's a chance you ate horse meat. After weeks of denials, Burger King has now admitted that new tests revealed four samples showed the presence of "trace levels of equine DNA" in its patties. As a result of the findings, Burger King said in a statement it has since parted ways with Silvercrest, its meat supplier, over the failure to provide "100 percent British and Irish beef patties." Burger King's investigation revealed that Silvercrest used beef from an unapproved supplier in Poland, later identified as the source of the contaminated meat.
