NYPD HAS ARRESTED 10 GANG MEMBERS IN THE BRONX WHO USED FACEBOOK & INSTAGRAM TO CARRY OUT VIOLENCE AND DRUG TRADE

NYC POLICE COMMISSIONER RAYMOND KELLY

Cops busted 10 alleged gangsters Wednesday for their alleged role in a violent turf battle with rival Bronx thugs that included a fusillade of bullets fired by a 17-year-old.
Triggerman Dominique Boyd is the youngest of the 10 accused hoodlums of the Walton Townsend Gang, all of whom are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, drug dealing, firearms possession and other crimes.
They staged seven shootings, including the turf battle with the “Eden Boyz” and a near-fatal hit on a “Dub City” gang member in 2011, cops said.
Police officers swooped down on the brutal clique in the Bronx and in Duluth, Ga,. in a coordinated takedown.
They nabbed nine alleged “WTG” members in the Mount Eden section of the Bronx and one in the Peach State in an attempt to dismantle a hierarchy of “Top Five” crew bosses and enforcers called “Big Homies.”
The gang used code words on Facebook and Instagram to plot crimes and recruit new members, referring to various drugs as “yams” and “krills,” cops said.
The result was violence that went “viral,” NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly said.
