Rap star Jay-Z surprised the staff at New York radio station Z100, to officially debut his latest signing, Rita Orr.
Staffers at the station told AllHipHop.com that Jay-Z popped up unannounced, with no security or entourage.
The station then offered up the U.S. premiere of Rita Orr’s latest song “Party and Bulls**t.”
“This was all very spontaneous. We just came to see some great friends over here at Z100 in my neighborhood and we knew they would like what they heard cause Rita is amazing,” said Jay Z. “This is what radio is all about– feeling, emotion and discovering new music and artists and sharing it with a huge audience.”
Clear Channel’s Z100 was more than thrilled to premiere Rita Orr’s latest offering on Roc Nation.
“The minute Jay played us Rita, we knew it was a hit and wanted to get it on the air right away,” said Tom Poleman, President of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment’s National Programming Platforms. “Within minutes, Rita was introduced to millions of listeners across America. It’s a great example of how radio can activate like no other medium.”
