“One of Ashton’s biggest dreams has always been to go up into space, so a couple of years ago he jumped at the chance to sign up for Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic airline to space.
“This was before he and Mila were serious. After they got serious, Mila became concerned about Ashton’s trip to space, fearful that something bad would happen. But, she still went along with it because she knew how much it meant to him.”
Fast forward two years: The couple is engaged and Mila, 31, gave birth to their first child, daughter Wyatt Isabelle in September, which was the final straw in Mila’s decision to completely ax Ashton’s trip to space, the insider added.
Not helping Ashton’s cause is the Oct. 31 accident of Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo’s test flight near Bakersfield, Calif., which broke into pieces moments after it separated from the jet plane, crashing back down to Earth killing one of the pilots and injuring the other.
“Mila is an emotional wreck in general right now — her hormones still aren’t back to normal,” the source dished.
“The recent Virgin Galactic accident made Mila extremely paranoid, and she told Ashton there’s no way in hell he’s going to space.”
But Kutcher doesn’t want to give up his dream.
“Ashton fought back, telling her that she’s going way overboard and needs to chill, but Mila isn’t backing down.
“This is definitely a big source of contention in their relationship right now.”
