KEVIN DURANT WINS NBA LEAGUE MVP AND TEARFULLY THANKS HIS MOTHER 'THE REAL MVP'

Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star Kevin Durant earned the NBA's top individual honor after snagging his first Most Valuable Player award. In his moving acceptance speech, Durant graciously thanked his teammates and coaches before owing his entire success to his tearful mother.

Durant, decked out in a sharp suit and flanked by his Thunder squad and coaching staff, didn't hold back his emotions from the onset.

Even though the Washington, D.C. native gamely held his composure at times, his raw emotions were contagious as his teammates joined him in letting their feelings get the best of them. Durant thanked each of his teammates in one of the classiest moves ever seen in major league sports.

However, it was Durant's dedication to his mother, Wanda Pratt, that proved to be the most moving. Calling his mother the “real MVP,” the may not have been a dry eye in the house at that point.

Durant kept it light at some points, throwing light jabs at his coach Scott Brooks but the superstar player's humility and willingness to keep the focus off of his weighty accomplishments proved to be most fulfilling moment of the acceptance ceremony.

Durant averaged 32.5 points, winning the NBA's scoring title for the fourth time in the last five years. He also averaged 5.5 assists and 7.4 rebounds per game.
