Twenty or so of the 65 indicted members of the Bronx-based “MacBallas” were expected to be dragged before a Bronx judge Wednesday following a two-year investigation that uncovered a sophisticated ring of ruthless killers and drug peddlers, law enforcement sources said.
The group is responsible for at least five murders, including that of Samantha Guzman, 18, an innocent bystander who was shot in the head during a 2006 gang beef in Morrisania, law enforcement sources said.

The MacBallas also supplied the region with narcotics, including heroin, crack, cocaine and prescription painkillers, selling the drugs to undercover officers on several occasions.
The group had a branch in upstate Binghamton that supplied local dealers who sold the drugs on the campus of SUNY Binghamton. That branch was dismantled by authorities two weeks ago.
Ringleader Larry Calderon had been leading the gang from a jail cell in Valhalla, Westchester County, ordering hits on rivals and subordinates who did not follows the group’s “code of conduct.”
Fourteen-year-old Shalliver Douse, who had hoped to join the band of killers, was ordered to carry out a “hit” in exchange for being allowed entry into the gang last year. The boy failed to hit his intended target and was later killed by police who responded to the shooting.
