NEW SAMSUNG GEAR FIT SMARTWATCH IS PACKED WITH TONS OF FEATURES

Samsung’s Gear Fit smartwatch loaded with features
Adding to the company’s 2014 range of smartwatches, Samsung has announced its new Gear Fit, a smartwatch with a fitness tracking heart packed into a sexy curved body.

While the Gear Fit is aimed to be a fitness tracking wearable, it very much shares features found on dedicated smartwatches, allowing notifications of calls, emails, SMS messages, your alarm and it also can act as a media controller.

The design of the Gear Fit itself is one of pure technological beauty, with a gorgeous curved OLED screen with vibrant colors that leaves you engrossed in awe.

The curved display feels perfect to navigate horizontally across your wrist, working with a simple swipe to navigate across the multiple screens. The black strap is interchangeable for other colors and will feature straps from local Australian designers throughout its life.

The curved OLED of the Gear Fit makes it stand out from the wearable crowd.
It works as a fitness manager, too — incorporating a heart rate monitor and pedometer that are constantly monitoring your body and activities, becoming your own personal fitness coach on your wrist.

The heart rate sensor works as advertised, monitoring my changing heart rate in real-time and constantly changing with physical movement or speak.

The Gear Fit has an IP67 water and dust rating, surviving underwater for 30 minutes — so you don’t have to worry about spilling your drink bottle on it or taking a quick couple of laps in the pool without taking the watch off.

Battery life is a little less than other fitness bands at 4-5 days worth of use, but is still much better than that of the Gear 2 or Sony Smart Watch 2.

Release date is slated for the same time as the Samsung Galaxy S5 in April with no pricing officially announced — but if it’s priced at less than $200, Samsung could have a winner on its hands.
